A Brief Overview
The Director Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) in collaboration with the Medical Director of Infection Prevention, is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the IPC program for Stanford Health Care. The IPC director sets the vision for the organization's IPC program through a strategic and operational plan that is reviewed and revised annually.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Quality and Safety, the IPC Director ensures compliance with IPC national and state regulatory standards and alignment with evidence-based practices in infection prevention.

What You Will Do
- Provide strategic direction, oversight, and direction of the implementation of a comprehensive infection control program for the hospital.
- Develop, execute, and organize periodic review of a comprehensive infection prevention plan aligned with organizational goals. Including policies, procedures, and educational initiatives.
- Integrate technology and digitalize the management of the infection prevention plan.
- Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to infection control, including Joint Commission standards.
- Partner in a dyad with the Medical Director of Infection Prevention to address imminent infectious disease threats and disseminate information across the organization.
- Report diseases to applicable county health departments according to the requirements of the State of California.
- Collaborate with the Health Department to report, address, and manage outbreaks, exposures, and communicable diseases.
- Work with stakeholders across the organization to address infections risks in the environment and the clinical care processes and develop and implement strategies for prevention.
- Supervise and mentor a team of infection prevention specialists across different entities.
- Manage the budget allocated for the infection prevention department and oversees resource allocation to adequately support the infection prevention initiatives.
- Master's Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Epidemiology, Microbiology, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Administration or other health-related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience Qualifications
- Five years of experience in a leadership role in infection prevention and control. Required OR Five years of progressive experience leading to a leadership role in infection prevention, quality, nursing, or other health-related fields. Required.
- CIC - Certified Infection Control required Within 2 Years of Hire

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $86.41 - $114.50 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
