Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing State and Local Government business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, AWS Redshift, AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS SageMaker, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. Your responsibilities will include owning the technical engagement and success of specific projects, defining architectures, responding to RFPs, developing expertise in AWS technologies, and being a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications and services. As a Solutions Architect, you will provide technical design and thought leadership, working with a world-class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to share best practices within the AWS community and collaborate with top industry minds across enterprise architecture. This role requires that the candidate be a US Citizen. Key responsibilities Design and create cloud computing architectures for customers. Engage in technical discussions and stay current with industry trends. Present technical solutions in various settings. Work with web services development, cloud computing, databases, big data, and analytics. Manage web operations, security, and database administration. Minimum qualifications 2+ years of experience in application and infrastructure design, implementation, or consulting. 4+ years in relevant technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, or security. Bachelor's degree. Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies. Preferred qualifications Experience in software development or internet industries. Experience migrating legacy systems to the cloud. Hands-on experience with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective. Experience in sales, pre-sales, or consulting.
