While our core business is supplying the commercial fishing industry, we have evolved to include industrial and sports netting sales, hydraulic sales and services, wholesale/industrial sales, recreational marine and outdoor sales, and internet sales. Summary: LFS is seeking a Soft Goods buyer to work with our Purchasing Manager to ensure that LFS has the right mix of clothing in our store to meet our customers' needs. This is an in office position based at corporate office in Bellingham WA. Assists in developing and selecting merchandise which supports overall department sales volume, gross margin and turnover objectives. Buying level approx. $2.0M in inventory Works with Sales Representatives to forecast needs. Works closely with the marketing team in the implementation of promotional ideas and activities. Negotiate and process purchase orders with suppliers. Partner with location managers to target their customers' needs. Evaluate competitive market trends within the industry. Communicate and partner with managers on business strategies in order to achieve yearly sales plan. Assists in identifying slow sellers and markdown process. Attend regional tradeshows. No transportation of housing is provided. Pay range is $24-$30 per hour. Minimum Requirements Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs) Bachelor's Degree. Professional level / 3-5 years of experience or equivalent education in related field Preferred education and experience Degree focus in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations, Business or Finance. Work environment: Office environment, the noise level in the work environment is usually low. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand and use a keyboard and telephone. The employee is required to talk or listen.
