Position Title: Local 211 Utility Man Department: Distribution Reports To: Distribution Superintendent / Sub - Foreman FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Union Status: Covered under Local 211 Utility Workers of America Agreement Primary Responsibilities Asphalt, Concrete and Lawn Restoration Install / Replace Gate Valves, Main Line, Service Taps and Fire Hydrants Inspect the installation of new mains Loading and unloading material Follow all workplace safety procedures. Required Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or GED Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.), work outdoors in varying conditions Basic mechanical skills and ability to use hand/power tools Willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures Good communication and teamwork skills Union Pay & Progression The pay rate for this position is $38.74 per hour. The starting rate for new employees hired will be 20% per hour below the rate, with an increase of 5% per hour upon completion of the one hundred eighty days. Every seventh month thereafter, a newly hired employee shall receive an additional 5% per hour, and after 24 months shall be paid the full rate. Health, dental, and eye insurance.
