Electric Utility Project Manager
within our esteemed Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will collaborate with lead engineers and account managers to provide top-tier consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities, focusing on the engineering design of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects across the nation. This position offers remote capabilities; however, candidates must reside in Hawaii to best serve our regional customers. If you thrive in a fast-paced, diverse environment and are eager for career growth, you'll appreciate our commitment to your professional development, which includes: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Leadership training and management opportunities Formal mentorship programs Professional development and continuing education resources Technical upskilling programs As an Electric Utility Project Manager, your responsibilities will include: Supporting project teams in engineering design for electric infrastructure projects; experienced candidates may lead other project managers and engage in program/portfolio management Overseeing overall project performance and financial reporting Managing project costs, schedules, and scopes while developing recovery plans as necessary Ensuring contract compliance Collaborating with Engineering Leads and Managers to execute client deliverables Documenting adherence to quality control processes Acting as the primary point of contact with clients and internal management Preparing bid documents and cost estimates, and responding to Requests for Proposals Completing monthly client invoicing and accounts receivable within deadlines Identifying potential business development opportunities What You'll Bring to the Table (Required Qualifications): Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a closely related discipline A minimum of 4 years of relevant Project Management experience Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLookup) Experience managing project financials, proposals, scopes, and schedules Familiarity with various contract types including Fixed Price and Time & Material Strong organizational and planning capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in the electric utility industry or consultancy environments is preferred You Might Also Have (Preferred Qualifications): PMP Certification, or a strong desire to obtain it within two years Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills Operational experience in Microsoft PowerBI Previously worked on projects for major US electric utilities A proven team-oriented consulting approach Advanced expertise in Excel is a plus Leidos is recognized as a trusted, technology-focused solutions provider in the energy sector.
