Reports To: Applications Engineering Manager Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Customer Applications Engineer to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for recent engineering graduates who are passionate about materials science, problem-solving, and customer engagement. The position involves extensive travel (approximately 80%) to customer sites and industry trade shows to deliver technical presentations and collaborate on custom elastomer-based solutions. Responsibilities Travel to customer locations and industry trade shows to present technical information on elastomer products and the companys design and manufacturing capabilities. Represent the company at trade shows focused on key industries, such as defense, aerospace, and medical devices, by engaging with potential customers and showcasing technical solutions. Collaborate with customer engineering teams to understand technical requirements and propose tailored elastomer solutions. Develop and present creative, technically sound solutions addressing customer needs in: - Shock and vibration mitigation - Thermal management - Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) shielding - Sealing and gasketing Develop a comprehensive understanding of the companys elastomer product portfolio and its applications across various industries. Attending supplier-led technical education courses to gain expertise in elastomer materials and manufacturing processes. Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams. Document customer requirements, proposed solutions, and feedback for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Alternative degrees will be considered, provided relevant experience is demonstratedin a technical sales role. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 80%), including to trade shows and customer sites. Interest in elastomer materials and their industrial applications. Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first attitude. Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn. Preferred Qualifications Internship or co-op experience in a technical or customer-facing role.
