Manufacturing Engineer - Outsourcing - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, Ohio

Responsibilities Include:

• Work with the BWXT NOG-B Outsourcing team to support the transfer of work to BWXT’s Cambridge, Ontario facility and other vendors as required.
• Develop technical packages for quotations, provide guidance on technical issues, assist with tracking of outsourcing metrics, qualifying personnel, plus other relevant duties.
• Work with NOG-B Product and Outsourcing teams to develop risk mitigation plans and provide fabrication oversight.
• Lead resolution of technical issues by coordinating key stakeholders and subject matter experts and documenting direction to the sublet vendors.
• Provide updates as required to customer on outsourcing activities, submittals, and the exchange of other technical and project information.
• Perform reviews of technical procedures and author procedures when required.
• Prepare Sub-Contract Data Sheet information pertaining to operations, specifications, and inspections to be followed by the vendor.
• Assume responsibility of assigned components being outsourced, ensuring all problems with vendor fabrication are resolved without unnecessary delay to product performance and no sacrifice to product quality.
• Travel up to 40% of the time and may increase as project needs evolve.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• Strong communication skills and interest in working with multiple disciplines in support of product design and manufacture; adept with MRP & Microsoft Office programs.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DOE issued Security Clearance.
• Preferred candidate to have knowledge of the components planned to be outsourced.
