Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Fire Sprinkler Designer/Engineer located in the Greater Chicago Area, with some work-from-home options available. The Fire Protection Designer/Engineer will be responsible for designing and drawing fire protection systems, including all fire sprinkler systems per NFPA 13, 13D, & 13R code. Daily tasks include utilizing engineering software to develop, design, and draw fire suppression system layouts, coordinating with electrical, mechanical, and other MEPs to ensure coordination and correct installation, and conducting field surveys to gather project details, existing conditions, and potential challenges.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Fire Sprinkler Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Experience with software such as AutoCad/HydraCAD, AutoSprink, Revit, Bluebeam, Planswift, & Microsoft Office. Knowledge and experience in BIM coordination. Skills in fire sprinkler product design and development. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment. A background in fire protection systems or related fields is required. Experience and knowledge with code compliance per NFPA 13, 13R, & 13D. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is a plus. Skills
