Job Description We’re currently hiring a Fixed Income Trader to join L&G Asset Management’s Global Trading and Liquidity Management Team. The role is within the London Fixed Income team, specializing in executing Corporate Bond & CDS trades, as well as general rates products for hedging. This is a full-time, office-based role requiring flexible working based on business needs. This is an execution role involving high interaction with portfolio managers and counterparties, necessitating excellent stakeholder & relationship management skills. What you’ll be doing: Managing and monitoring the execution of Corporate Bonds, CDS, and general rates products in compliance with client, legal, regulatory, and risk management standards. Facilitating primary markets activity, including handling orders and allocations. Analyzing market data to develop trading strategies and optimize counterparty selection, including transaction cost analysis. Providing investment teams with market commentary, daily feedback, and advice on traded or open positions. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties. Collaborating with the Global Trading & Liquidity Management team, including teams in Hong Kong and Chicago. Partnering with the Trading Research team to analyze large trading data sets to improve execution tools and client outcomes. Contributing to process improvements, automating workflows, and enhancing efficiency. Supporting technology initiatives and system upgrades. Practicing L&G cultural values and behaviors.
Qualifications Who we’re looking for: Qualifications Strong academic background; professional certifications like CFA/IMC are a plus but not mandatory. Relevant Fixed Income trading experience at a buy-side or sell-side institution. Skills & Knowledge Experience in executing Corporate Bonds & CDS, with a good understanding of financial instruments and markets, including market structure and trading mechanics. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Python or other programming languages is desirable. Experience with trading applications such as OMS and trading platforms.
