The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist with advanced training and/or experience in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology. The Pediatric Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist will be part of a clinical team in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine. Responsibilities include outpatient and inpatient care, primarily focusing on transplant hepatology and liver disease, along with general pediatric gastroenterology and clinical outreach at satellite clinics. While clinical service is the primary focus, there are opportunities for academic work, including education, research, administration, and advocacy.
Clinical activities are conducted at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Pediatric Liver Care Center covers a large geographic area, with a diverse patient population from Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming, and New Mexico. The liver transplant program has performed over 280 transplants, including altruistic and related living donors. The center features advanced surgical procedures and a pediatric ERCP/advanced endoscopy program. The division includes 14 physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and fellows, offering comprehensive pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition services, along with specialized programs and centers.
The University of Utah is a leading center for pediatric liver disease research, participating in national networks and multicenter trials. Candidates must have at least one year of advanced training in pediatric transplant hepatology or equivalent experience, completed Pediatrics Residency, Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship, and be Board Certified or eligible. The appointment will be on the faculty in the Department of Pediatrics, with a competitive salary and benefits, including substantial retirement contributions.
