Global Gaming League (GGL) is a premier esports and gaming organization dedicated to delivering high-quality competitive gaming experiences. As we expand our live and online events, we are looking for an Esports Administrator to oversee the execution of esports competitions, ensuring smooth gameplay, fair competition, and an engaging player experience.
Position Overview
The Esports Administrator is responsible for managing the execution of competitive gaming matches during live and online events. This role is a crucial part of the Operations Team, overseeing match setup, in-game lobby management, rule enforcement, and real-time game issue resolution. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of competitive gaming, technical troubleshooting skills, and experience in high-pressure tournament environments.
This role requires collaboration with Technical Teams, Tournament Administrators, and Broadcast Crews to ensure GGL’s esports events meet professional standards. Additional scope of work may change as needed based on evolving business needs and event requirements.
- Set up and manage custom game lobbies, matchmaking servers, and in-game configurations.
- Oversee match flow, ensuring proper execution of rules, game formats, and timing.
- Monitor real-time gameplay for rule violations, technical issues, and disputes.
- Handle in-game pauses, re-hosts, and resets as necessary.
- Implement and enforce tournament rules and competitive integrity measures.
- Work closely with referees and tournament admins to resolve player disputes.
- Conduct pre-match system checks to ensure proper game functionality.
- Identify and troubleshoot latency, connectivity, and hardware-related issues.
- Work with IT and Technical Teams to escalate and resolve technical problems.
- Ensure game software, patches, and settings are up to date before events.
- Assist players with pre-match setup, account logins, and lobby assignments.
- Communicate match schedules, rule clarifications, and game settings to players.
- Provide support for player inquiries, roster changes, and in-game adjustments.
- Coordinate with the Broadcast Team to provide live match updates and game feeds.
- Ensure camera modes, spectator views, and overlays are properly set up for streaming.
- Work with casters and analysts to provide game-related insights and stats.
- Record and report match results, statistics, and highlights to the tournament database.
- Document rule infractions, technical issues, and player feedback for post-event analysis.
- Assist in compiling post-event reports to improve future tournaments.
Experience in Esports Operations
- 1-3 years of experience in esports tournament operations, game administration, or competitive gaming.
- Familiarity with tournament structures (single elimination, double elimination, Swiss format, etc.).
- Expertise in one or more competitive gaming titles (FPS, MOBA, Sports, Fighting, etc.).
- Strong understanding of game mechanics, meta strategies, and in-game settings.
- Ability to troubleshoot latency issues, in-game bugs, and matchmaking errors.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with players, admins, and production teams.
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments and adapt to last-minute changes.
- Experience using tournament management platforms (Battlefy, FACEIT, Challonge, etc.).
- Knowledge of broadcast tools like OBS, vMix, or other streaming software.
- Familiarity with gaming hardware, networking, and server configurations.
