As part of our commitment to supporting the holistic development of our students, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team.
Position Overview: The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders and difficulties in students age 3-21. The SLP will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans that address students' speech, language, and communication needs. Additionally, the SLP will provide consultation, support, and training to school staff and parents to promote the generalization of skills across settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication skills using standardized tests, informal observations, and interviews with parents and teachers.
- Analyze assessment data to determine students' strengths and areas of need, establish diagnostic impressions, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders and difficulties, including articulation disorders, language delays, fluency disorders, and social communication deficits.
- Implement evidence-based intervention techniques and strategies to address speech and language goals, facilitate communication development, and improve students' functional communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to integrate therapy goals into the student's educational program and support their academic success.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide consultation, support, and training to school staff and parents on communication strategies, accommodations, and techniques for supporting students' communication needs in the classroom and at home.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution.
- Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of speech and language development, communication disorders, and evidence-based intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the needs of diverse students.
