The Pricer/Floater plays a dynamic role at Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas, supporting both the pricing of donated merchandise and assisting in donor services. Under the supervision of the Store Manager or Plant Manager, this position ensures high-quality customer and donor interactions, accurate merchandise pricing, and smooth store operations. The Pricer/Floater will also be responsible for greeting donors, unloading donations, maintaining donor records, and keeping the donation area organized. Job Responsibilities: Provide exceptional customer and donor service, ensuring all interactions reflect Goodwill's core values. Accurately sort donations into salable, salvage, and trash categories, ensuring proper handling of non-salable items. Price merchandise using Goodwill's baseline price guide and apply special pricing to items of exceptional value. Greet donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner within 10 seconds, offering assistance with unloading donations and providing tax receipts. Maintain accurate daily counts of donations and ensure proper recording of donor information. Ensure the proper stewardship of all donated items, guiding them through the Goodwill River process. Keep pricing and donation areas clean, organized, and safe. Transport merchandise to appropriate areas, including the sales floor, dock, and donation receiving areas. Stock shelves, rotate merchandise, conduct markdowns, and arrange displays according to company standards. Ensure all donations are processed within 24 hours of receipt. Operate material handling equipment safely and responsibly. Transport trash to compactor/dumpster and operate the compactor as needed. Adhere to all Goodwill policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols. Participate in company-sponsored training sessions and community activities as assigned. Perform additional duties as directed by the Store Manager or Plant Manager. Be willing and available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Required Education, Experience, and Skills: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Knowledge of pricing for accessories, antiques, wares, furniture, shoes, and electronics is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain a friendly, professional demeanor. Basic math and computer skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift, push, and pull merchandise. Ability to see details at close range and guide the parking of vehicles. Strong listening skills to understand and respond to donor and customer inquiries. Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle items, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Assistance should be sought for items over 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
