GLFHC is currently seeking a Graduate Pharmacy Intern. The Graduate Pharmacy Intern is a PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited pharmacy program and is registered by the Board to acquire, under the direction of a Board approved Registered Pharmacist preceptor to whom they have been assigned, practical experience which is a prerequisite to examination for personal registration as a Pharmacist. A Graduate Pharmacy Intern may engage in the full range of activities conducted by a Registered Pharmacist, provided that they are under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist preceptor. Assists Pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication both over the counter and using unit dose medication methods. Assist the Pharmacist with placing orders. Assist customer with prescriptions as well as front store products and in the use of all products. Counts stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records. Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to customers, compute charges, enters data in computer and bills customers and/ or Third Party. Ensure cleanliness of entire store including: dusting shelves and product; vacuuming floors; sweeping, and removing trash. Prepare applicable vaccinations as allowed by the MA DPH, confirm appropriateness through patient profile review, and utilize appropriate vaccination preparation skills to administer vaccinations when applicable. Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, etc. Provide specialized educational programs and health promotions to help patients manage chronic health conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. Assist with Central Refill Department, Clinical Pharmacy Department and/or Operations team as needed. Qualifications:
Experience
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a U.S. accredited pharmacy program Must possess or be in process of obtaining a valid Pharmacist Intern and/or technician licensure as required by MA State BOP. Complete all required training and within state guidelines and required timeframe. Demonstrated analytical, verbal, written communication skills and computer skills required Education
PharmD graduate of an approved college/school of pharmacy.
