The Director of Business Development will lead efforts to increase sales, revenue, and group and event marketing for Hyatt Convention Alliance (HCA) through strategic planning and the development of new and existing group business.

The Director will collaborate with the HCA Directors of Sales & Marketing and will be responsible for:

1. Developing comprehensive knowledge of the 11 Hyatt Convention Alliance hotels, including tours of individual hotels and their competitive set.
2. Organizing agendas and leading monthly strategy calls with Directors of Sales & Marketing.
3. Analyzing business trends to identify target markets and creating initiatives to capitalize on these opportunities.
4. Collaborating with Business Development Managers and engaging with the 5 HCA Regional Teams to develop new business opportunities and track progress.
5. Maintaining effective relationships with the HSF and NSF Teams.
6. Analyzing tentative and confirmed business to identify opportunities for HCA hotels.
7. Building engagement with Event Planning Partners to ensure consistent Hyatt messaging.
8. Managing targeted customer lists and preparing reports for upcoming years.
9. Managing HCA Signature customer events, including site selection, content development, and customer communication.
10. Participating in Hyatt’s Sales Incentive Plan and Hotel-to-Hotel referral program for qualified referrals outside the Convention Alliance.
11. Representing Hyatt Convention Alliance hotels at tradeshows and sales calls when requested.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of group sales experience, preferably in large convention hotels.
• Active membership in industry organizations such as MPI and PCMA, with engagement in local chapter activities.
