REPORTS TO: Managing Director of Analytics and Strategy
POSITION TYPE: 12-month
START DATE: Immediate
COMPENSATION: $54,911 - $65,894, Home Office Grade 4

THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic College Data Analyst with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, and build transformative relationships.
To put it simply, you will work extensively with the Analytics and the College Initiatives teams to empower stakeholders to make data-driven decisions, including daily choices and long-term strategic decisions, by providing accurate, timely, and accessible data and assisting teams to derive insights from the data. This position also involves strategically designing and developing advanced visualizations of data to meet end-user requirements.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:
- Serving as the data champion for College Initiatives, building a deep expertise in the college application process, YES Prep's alumni, and college matriculation data using college databases;
- Developing and sharing analysis on College Initiative's programming, goal setting/forecasting, and progress monitoring;
- Leading scoping strategy, vision, and goals to align with tools, technology, and optimized capacity;
- Staying atop data trends, key indicators, and industry standards of alumni work to increase college matriculation and completion rates;
- Creating new, innovative dashboards and data visualizations to inform College Initiative programming;
- Evaluating data sets to determine best data visualization methods to present information;
- Acting as a strategic partner by resolving end-user questions in a timely, friendly, and proactive manner;
- Developing training and end-user support for data visualizations and reports;
- Supporting Director of Analytics in delivering data, analyses, and insights from complex data sets that enable us to drive strategic priorities;
- Designing and providing training to organization leadership on the use, manipulation, and analysis of interactive data visualizations;
- Managing multiple surveys for the College Initiatives team, including design, response rates, and analyzing results; using survey results to create insightful collateral on programs such as student and talent recruitment, family engagement, and advancement;
- Managing data system changes for college applications and alumni matriculation; including vendor selection, migration/integration, and on-going maintenance;
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining systems to track interactions and engagement with alumni;
- Additional duties as assigned.

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- 1-3 years of experience working with data
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI (preferred) or Tableau
- Proven track record of data analysis to solve problems and drive improvement
- Proven ability to manage projects, lead teams, and learn and utilize technological skills
- Intermediate expertise with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
- Expertise on managing data systems and data collection
- Ability to manage survey design, administration, and analysis
- Creates and maintains positive working relationships on a team and/or in a highly collaborative environment

THE NICE TO HAVES
- Degree in Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Experience as an analyst
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau

- Compensation - This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance - A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
