About The Role
This role manages hardware and manufacturing projects for tech and fitness products. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a hardware engineer, with expertise in hardware development and manufacturing. You'll oversee the entire hardware lifecycle, from design and prototyping to full-scale production, ensuring high-quality, reliable products for active lifestyle consumers.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and manage hardware and manufacturing projects related to Actvibody’s wearable fitness devices and related hardware. Ensure all projects meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Work closely with the engineering and product teams to refine hardware designs, ensuring manufacturability and durability for fitness-focused applications.
- Manage the production process of wearable technology, collaborating with both internal teams and external suppliers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and timely hardware components.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize manufacturing workflows to improve product quality, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency. Ensure processes are scalable and flexible to meet Actvibody’s growth.
- Ensure products undergo rigorous testing and validation to meet industry standards and exceed customer expectations in terms of performance and durability.
- Coordinate with product management, hardware engineering, software development, and design teams to ensure alignment and smooth integration of hardware with software for seamless user experiences.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware production, assembly, and design. Act quickly to resolve any production delays or technical problems.
- Maintain detailed documentation for all hardware designs, testing procedures, quality control standards, and production processes.
- Provide regular updates and insights on project progress and challenges to senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a hardware engineer, with proven experience in managing hardware projects, preferably in consumer electronics, wearables, or fitness technology.
- Strong knowledge of hardware design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes for wearable or portable devices.
- Hands-on experience with product lifecycle management, from prototype to full-scale production.
- Experience working with external suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure high-quality production.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices and industry standards, especially within the wearable tech and consumer electronics space.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and/or simulation tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and designers.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a solutions-oriented mindset.
