Frontline Education Position Overview
The Head Middle School Indoor/Outdoor Track Coach at i3 Academy in Birmingham, Alabama, is responsible for leading and managing the athletic program in accordance with AHSAA and NFHS guidelines. The coach will oversee all aspects of team development, safety, and performance while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. Responsibilities
Complete a background check and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. Fulfill all coaching requirements mandated by AHSAA and NFHS. Fundraise and manage the team's budget. Develop athletes through skill instruction, conditioning, and character development. Ensure compliance with AHSAA rules, school policies, and regulations. Communicate effectively with parents, students, colleagues, and the community. Mentor students academically and athletically. Implement training programs and practice schedules. Schedule games, tournaments, and handle logistics. Evaluate player performance and ensure fair treatment. Participate in professional development to improve coaching skills. Demonstrate sportsmanship and integrity. Collaborate with school administration and staff. Serve as a positive role model and uphold ethical standards. Stay informed on current coaching practices and trends. Ensure athletes are medically cleared and eligible according to AHSAA guidelines. Use platforms like Dragonfly for administrative tasks. Maintain sports facilities. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous coaching experience desired. Strong understanding of sport fundamentals and strategies. Ability to develop young athletes and promote teamwork and leadership. Commitment to academic and emotional development of student-athletes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Budget management skills. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel. Adherence to coaching standards and ethical guidelines. Note: This seasonal position offers supplemental pay and requires a passionate individual dedicated to coaching, sportsmanship, and academic excellence. The Head Coach influences student-athletes' experiences and promotes a positive, inclusive sports culture at i3 Academy.
