Job Summary
The HR Generalist serves as an administrator for several critical human resources functions and workforce management, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, and employee records. Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance. Provides internal support and partnership to business lines to deliver required human resources. Coordinates with sites to support staff to process and maintain employment, attendance, and other records. 10% travel required.

This is an onsite role based in Tampa, FL.
Job Responsibilities
- Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources and Payroll policies, programs, procedures, laws, and government regulations.
- Acts as a resource for employees and managers to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefits and HR policies and regulations.
- Reviews applicant process, coordinates interviews, and provides updates to hiring managers.
- Coordinates and processes new hire paperwork, including offers, drug screening, and background checks.
- Conducts employee training at various site locations to ensure employees gain an understanding of policies, procedures, benefit plans, and enrollment processes.
- Conducts exit interviews and new employee check-ins to improve retention.
- Counsels management on potential issues and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.
- Maintains compliance with Federal and California state regulations concerning employment.
- Reviews all personnel changes before processing for payroll or benefits (terminations, job and pay changes, etc.).
- Maintains personnel files in accordance with federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
- Manages all leave of absence requests, disability, and unemployment claims and escalates to HR Manager when necessary.
- Tracks and processes Education Reimbursement Program, Referral Program, EDD Claims, and National Support Notices.
- Assists the HR Manager with various projects.
- Prepares and analyzes various HR reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Plans and supports employee engagement initiatives, including monthly and annual events.
- Works with leaders and employees to create a positive work environment that promotes company values and purpose.
- Promotes a diverse and inclusive environment supported by our I&D agenda.
- Maintains communication boards, creates, and posts newsletters/flyers.
- Identifies areas to improve HR processes and efficiency to better support the business.
- Participates in the development of the company's strategic plans.
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 1+ years of experience in HR Administration.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, in-person, and by telephone.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Beginner to intermediate Excel skills and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to HR, payroll, and benefits.
- Overnight Travel 10%.
- Experience using Workday, Benefitsolver is a plus.
