Hartmann Young is exclusively partnered with a global ingredients solutions provider, specialising in starches, sweeteners, fibres, and plant-based proteins for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors in search of a NA Sales Director. This role will be responsible for driving the commercial execution of the strategy across the
US and Canada . The position will focus on maximising profitability and sales revenue by cultivating deep and strategic customer relationships while leading a diverse team of sales professionals to achieve their targets. A key aspect of this role will be building a robust and differentiated project pipeline across the region, working closely with various sales channels, including Distributors, Virtual Sales, and Key Accounts. Key Responsibilities: Lead the regional sales team to exceed targets for sales volume, revenue, and profitability, with a focus on both new and existing specialty products. Develop and execute the annual sales plan, aligning with the overall US/Canada Healthful Solutions strategy. Manage and mentor a team of sales professionals, fostering talent development and embedding company values, culture, and compliance principles. Build and manage a strong opportunity pipeline, driving high sales conversion rates. Ensure full and consistent utilisation of
Salesforce.com
for project pipeline management, account planning, and customer experience enhancement. Champion
Sales Excellence
initiatives and collaborate with internal teams—including Supply Chain, Product Line Management, Innovation, Quality, and Sustainability—to break down execution barriers. Develop and nurture long-term relationships with key strategic customers. Key Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in
Business, Food Science , or a related discipline. 15+ years of sales experience , preferably within the food ingredients industry, with strong recognition among major food and beverage customers. Proven
leadership and managerial experience , with a minimum of
5 years in a sales leadership role . Strong
business acumen
and ability to analyse key customer financial and economic drivers. Consistent track record of
delivering strong commercial results
year over year. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills , with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organisation. Experience managing risk, resolving complex problems, and making strategic decisions in ambiguous environments. Creative thinker with the ability to
inspire change, challenge the status quo, and drive execution . Agile mindset, with the ability to adapt quickly and develop team capabilities. Passionate about
creating a customer-first culture . Willingness to travel up to
