We’re looking for an amazing Manager, Environmental Water Program to fill this role, which is based in our Santa Clarita office. You’ll be responsible for: Supporting all environmental aspects of shipboard water programs and initiatives on board the ships within the HA Group fleet. Ensuring that specific portions of the Environmental GHESS SOPs for the Holland America Group are being adhered to and that the vessels have the necessary policies, procedures, and information to be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Preparing any necessary ballast water submissions to Port/State authorities. Reviewing SeaEvent submissions relevant to the function. Responsibilities Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all environmental water-related issues. Host, record, and run EOP’s Monthly EO Conference Calls. Submit AVRFs via California State Lands Commission’s web-portal. Review SeaEvent submissions (ENV-water-related incidents). Assist EOs and ship’s staff in ENV-related operational questions/issues. Stand ERO Duty shifts as the Environmental Operations representative. Assist Governance leadership in understanding and maintaining cognizance of international, port state, and flag-related regulations that are in effect or will be coming into effect in the near future, including classification society-related requirements. Track and help address compliance of Environmental-related standards. Provide guidance and assistance on water-related issues and serve as the primary point of contact for shoreside and shipboard stakeholders. Provide timely assistance and support of shore and shipboard personnel with water-related compliance matters. Research and look out for any new technologies and methods that will help our ships reduce their environmental impact on our oceans. Requirements Degree in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Accounting, or Pre-Law. Accredited ISO 14001 (EMS) Lead Auditor Training, preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical, environmental auditing. Minimum 5 years in the cruise industry (or other maritime industry). Some years in development, delivery, scheduling of training programs. Some years in an ENV laboratory setting. Familiarity with application of Class Society and Flag State rules. Excellent PC skills, including word processing, database management, and spreadsheets. Familiarity with P&ID and GA Drawings. Familiarity with water quality control (wastewater). Project Management skills and experience. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidate's qualifications and experience uniquely.
