Hubbard House advocates are the first point of contact for victims of domestic violence seeking assistance. Advocates focus on Hubbard House program participants and go the extra mile to help, providing a supportive experience and maintaining a high degree of program participant satisfaction. Listens to program participants concerns, issues, and questions in a warm and engaging manner. Assist victims by positively promoting Hubbard House services and the agency as a whole, answering questions and addressing concerns as they arise.
Provide excellent services, assistance, support, and solutions for victims. A Resident Advocate provides for the daily needs and safety for Hubbard House Shelter residents and their families living in shelter. The Resident Advocate also provides crisis intervention counseling, conflict resolution, advocacy, support, safety planning, lethality assessments, and follow-up services as warranted for Hubbard House residential participants. This position has responsibility for the security and operation of the Emergency Shelter.
Handle complaints/service issues in a positive, calm, and reassuring manner. Clarify program participants complaints, determine possible cause of the concern, provide appropriate solutions/alternatives within Hubbard House policies/procedures, and follow-up to ensure resolution. Problem solving will include cooperative efforts with all internal and external contacts.
Leads provide the team guidance and daily work activity direction under the direction of the program supervisor.
Victim Services to others may include victims of elder abuse, human trafficking, child abuse, and sexual assault.

HS diploma or GED required. No experience necessary. Hubbard House provides training and tools to perform in a fast-paced, multitasking, mission-focused nonprofit organization.
Being a survivor of domestic violence is a plus.
Must be able to read, write and speak English; bi-lingual capabilities a plus.
A valid driver's license and dependable transportation required. Vehicle insurance must be maintained. Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage.
Due to the serious nature of the Hubbard House mission, must successfully clear background screening: 1) a level-2 background screening which includes a criminal background check through the Department of Family and Children (DCF), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the National Sex Offender Registry (at a minimum); 2) a motor vehicle report (MVR) is also run against the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV); and 3) a drug, alcohol, and TB screening. Must be able to produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify).
FULL TIME / NON-EXEMPT
PAY: From $17.00 per hour; commensurate with experience
