Job Description:
We have an opening in the Information Technology Department for a Systems Engineer to be based out of the Technology & Innovation Center in Grimes, IA. The systems engineering team is responsible for the IT server and computer systems across the enterprise including Hy-Vee's retail, corporate, subsidiary, distribution, and manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will excel at obtaining results in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem solving and communication skills, and can connect technology to real-world business challenges.
Responsibilities:
Administers and maintains Windows servers operating on physical infrastructure or VMware and Hyper-V hypervisors. Creates highly available and scalable enterprise solutions. Encourages automation by leveraging PowerShell and/or other scripting languages. Provide advanced troubleshooting support and mentorship to the Systems Administrators. Creates and maintains technical documentation stored within the team's knowledge base. Monitors system health and proactively mitigates issues. Maintains current knowledge of IT trends and landscape to leverage new solutions. Coordinate with cross team members to drive projects to completion. Qualifications:
Extensive experience administering Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, PKI, MECM) Experience with VMware or Hyper-V hypervisors. Experience with troubleshooting applications and preventative maintenance. Understanding of monitoring tools such as NAGIOS. Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or other scripting languages. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Experience designing and delivering IT solutions to business problems. Experience and Education
Bachelor degree preferred, or relevant experience. The ideal candidate would have 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer The ideal candidate would have 5+ years of experience working with Group Policy, Active Directory, Certificates and Azure Active Directory. The ideal candidate would have strong experience with SCCM and/or MECM. Physical Requirements
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction. Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking. Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions
The duties for this position are performed in a general office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
