Certified Welding Inspector - CWI (Midwest USA) IL, IN, MO, KY
Join us at Pennoni as a Certified Welding Inspector - CWI in the Midwest USA, including Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Kentucky. We are seeking full-time and part-time AWS Certified Welding Inspectors for fabrication shops producing bridge and highway products for transportation agencies in locations such as Chicago, Vincennes, Gary, Louisville, and St. Louis.
Responsibilities include:
- Inspect welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other materials.
- Monitor work for compliance with shop drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Communicate and meet with fabricators, clients, and engineers.
- Produce daily written shop reports.
Required Attributes:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Reliable transportation.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with QA/QC of bridge fabrication.
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certifications such as UT, MT, PT.
- Experience with QA/QC of bridge and highway structure fabrication.
- AWS D1.1/D1.5 experience.
- Coating Inspection experience.
