Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required
- 1 year of medical billing experience, preferred
- Experience with Microsoft office
The Health Care Initial Billing Specialist is a member of the team responsible for coordinating and processing patient and insurance billing.
Below are additional key functions and skills for this opportunity:
- Submitting claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies to secure payment
- Creates patient accounts in billing systems to bill DME claims to payors and patients
- Reviews medical documentation to bill correct payors and products
- Creates and mails insurance claims
- Resubmits claims to insurance companies or other third parties to secure payment
