Location: Fountain Inn, SC
Position: Direct Hire (Full-Time)
Title: 25-02200 - Mold Set-Up Technician (Plastic Injection Molding)
Job Summary:
- Ensure injection molding machines are properly set-up and run to customer quality standards and meet all production goals.
- Make necessary connections of the electrical, hydraulic and cooling systems to the mold; insure that the correct plastic material, plastic melt temperatures, shot size, injection speed and pressures are set; and cycle the machine and adjust the molding parameters until acceptable parts are produced.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain an environment for safe work environments by following HSE and 5S policies and procedures.
- Change tools per schedule and/or leadership direction in a safe and efficient manner utilizing established crane and Lock-out Tag-out procedures.
- Ensure established Mold Setting processes are followed. Sets up equipment based on mold requirements, materials, and tolerances.
- Maintain all tool change equipment and tools in a safe and clean storage area.
- Complete weekly preventive maintenance on machines and tools, apply force of 75lbs or greater for clamping tools in machines, and frequently lift weight over 40lbs.
- Execute production runs; conducts quality control testing before mold enters production cycle.
- Report all damaged tool change equipment to the Production Supervisor/Technical Manager.
- Use various measuring and gauging tools to perform necessary inspections before, during, and after molding operations.
- Attend training classes and scheduled meetings.
Requirements:
- 1 -3 Minimum Years of Experience with injection molding.
- 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
- Forklift certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of machinery and fixtures.
Preferred:
- 3 months mold change experience, preferably injection molding.
- Experience with overhead cranes.
Education:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Area of Study: General studies
- Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions
