As an Occupational Registered Nurse, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Conducting comprehensive patient assessments
- Train employees on workplace safety, proper equipment use, and infection control
- Evaluate exposure risks (e.g., chemical, noise, repetitive stress) and suggest safety improvements.
- Maintain employee health records in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and workplace inspections.
- Prepare reports on workplace injuries and illnesses for regulatory agencies.
- Conduct onsite drug and alcohol screening
- Track and manage workers' compensation cases.
- Coordinate with physicians, HR, insurance, and legal teams on work-related injury claims.
- Ensure compliance with return-to-work policies.
- Assess and treat employee illnesses or injuries occurring at work.
- Provide first aid and emergency care when needed.
- Monitor recovery progress and coordinate return-to-work plans.
- Other duties as assigned
A few must-haves for Occupational Registered Nurses:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license in GA
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience Occupational Health, ER, or Med Surg
- CPR & First Aid Certification (Will not accept online certifications)
- Successful completion of HIPPA and OSHA training
- Occupational Health RN experience preferred
- Ability to assess patients quickly in emergency situations in stressful environments
- Team, detail and goal oriented
- Positive, professional and empathetic demeanor
