Position Overview :
The Project Manager II is a vital member of the production team at Ingenuity Engineers. This role is designed for someone who has successfully managed projects and is ready to take on more complex responsibilities, including larger project scopes, leadership of project teams, and more advanced client management. The Project Manager II will play a key role in both the design process and overall project delivery, ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Leadership : Lead and manage complex MEP projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring all deliverables meet high standards of quality, are completed on time, and align with client expectations.
- Advanced Design Oversight : Take on significant design responsibilities, providing guidance and oversight to the design team to ensure technical accuracy and innovation in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Client Management : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on more complex projects. Foster strong client relationships, anticipate and address client needs, and proactively manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Billing and Financial Oversight : Take greater ownership of the billing process by preparing project billing independently, reviewing budgets, and ensuring financial performance meets project objectives.
- Delegation and Team Leadership : Lead and mentor project team members, including junior project managers, engineers, and drafters. Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring that team members are empowered and supported to deliver high-quality work.
- Project Review and Continuous Improvement : Conduct thorough end-of-project reviews, analyzing project performance, identifying successes and areas for improvement, and driving best practices into future projects.
- Proposal and Scope Management : Understand and negotiate project proposals and scopes of work, ensuring alignment between the project team and client expectations while managing project risks and opportunities.
- Client Expectation Management : Refine and implement advanced strategies to effectively manage client expectations, ensuring a strong partnership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaboration and Coordination : Work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure the seamless integration of MEP systems within overall project objectives.
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management roles, preferably within an MEP, construction, or engineering firm.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, tight deadlines, and large project scopes.
- Deep knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations for MEP systems.
- Strong design experience with a focus on MEP systems, with a demonstrated ability to guide design teams and contribute to technical solutions.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships and manage challenging situations diplomatically.
- Independent project billing and financial management experience, with a strong understanding of project budgets and financial forecasting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience in task delegation, team management, and mentoring junior team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate project proposals, scopes, and contracts.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and the capacity to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed.
- Ability to travel.
