Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to assist physicians in performing interventional radiographic and related procedures for diagnostic interpretation and therapeutic interventions. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and documenting inventory of materials, supplies, and coding used for IR services. Other duties will be assigned as needed to ensure smooth operations within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians during interventional radiographic and related procedures, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain inventory of materials and supplies needed for interventional radiology services.
- Accurately document the materials, supplies, and coding used during procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols during all interventional radiology procedures.
- Provide support for various procedures in vascular IR (e.g., TIPS, arterial vascular intervention, vein ablation, sclerotherapy, TVLB), hybrid OR (e.g., EVAR, TEVAR, TCAR), oncology interventions (e.g., Therasphere, Sirsphere, TACE, cryoablation, microwave ablation), MSK interventions (e.g., vertebroplasty, RF ablation, percutaneous bone screw placement), and non-vascular interventions (e.g., PTC/PBD, nephrostomy placements, ureteral stenting, G-tube, chest tube, Pleurex).
- Ensure accurate billing and coding for IR services in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
- Operate Siemens, Philips, GE US imaging systems, and EPIC/PACS systems.
Required Skills & Experience:
- One year of experience in an Interventional Radiology (IR), Neuro Interventional Radiology (NIR), or Cath Lab setting.
- In-depth knowledge of the operation of interventional radiographic equipment and related diagnostic and therapeutic equipment/supplies.
- Strong understanding of coding and billing processes for interventional radiology services.
- Experience with Siemens and Philips imaging systems and GE US imaging systems.
- Familiarity with EPIC/PACS systems.
- Experience supporting vascular IR, Neuro IR, and hybrid OR procedures.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology (ARRT-VI).
- Advanced certification through ARRT in ARRT-CI, ARRT-CV, or ARRT-VI.
Required Education:
- Post-high school completion of a minimum two-year, approved program in Radiologic Technology.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- ARRT registered and current State of Wisconsin license as a Radiographer.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or an AHA-approved equivalent required within three months of hire.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- Advanced certification through ARRT in ARRT-CI or ARRT-CV or ARRT-VI.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
