The Packaging and Logistics Specialist regulates all aspects of returnable packaging concerning production and manufacturing at Michigan Automotive Compressor, Inc. (MACI). This includes maintaining inventory for production line support, as well as providing reserve support, as needed. The Packaging and Logistics Specialist develops customer returnable packaging for new models, including design approval and packaging specifications. The Packaging and Logistics Specialist will handle inventory, distribution, and procurement of supplier packaging used for raw material transport to MACI. The Packaging and Logistics Specialist is responsible for multiple modes of transportation including import drayage, domestic, and expedite moves. The Packaging and Logistics Specialist creates and maintains annual packaging budget toward Production Control's total overall department budget.
Responsibilities
The Packaging and Logistics Specialist is responsible for the following included but not limited to:
Responsible for Managing Customer Returnable, Supplier Returnable, and Backup Expendable Packaging Will Work with Customer for Engineering of Packaging Design and Approval, Phaseout, and Buyoff Responsible for Physical Inventory of Warehouse with Internal and Outside Auditors Handles Arrangement of Domestic and International Outbound and Inbound Freight Calculate Warehouse Space Requirement and Layout Create and Maintain Department Budget Accounts including Packaging, Freight In, Freight Out Requirements
4-year degree preferably in Supply Chain Management or related concentration Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including experience in creating and working with spreadsheets Analytical, good written and verbal communication, interpersonal and leadership skills Preferred Experience
