The HVAC Account Manager is instrumental in cultivating partnerships with customers and proactively addressing their needs. This role involves managing owner-direct negotiated sales, delivering accurate estimates, overseeing projects related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, and promoting a safety-first culture. The position requires consistent communication with customers, building owners, and team members to exceed customer expectations while fostering strong, positive relationships with colleagues. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, effectively manage multiple projects, and build collaborative connections with customers, field operations, management, and office staff. Annual Salary Range:
$83,200 - $125,000 DOE Key Responsibilities: Identify, sell, and negotiate HVAC maintenance agreements. Develop customer account management strategies by analyzing their organization, key decision-makers, influencers, and decision-making processes. Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals to new and existing customers that ensure profitable outcomes. Execute administrative tasks, including cost and risk management, quality assurance, and timely project delivery. Acquire new customers through networking and leveraging referrals from existing clients. Engage in industry networking events to boost sales and strengthen customer loyalty. Foster a collaborative, teamwork-oriented mindset. Manage public relations by addressing concerns, providing information, and offering expert guidance. Support field personnel and coworkers by directing efforts and answering project-related questions. Review and ensure compliance with contracts. Attend meetings and submit timely reports (expense reports, sales reports, working agreements). Maximize annual revenue while sustaining profitability. Maintain or exceed Booked Margin per company standards. Join and actively participate in HVAC industry associations to generate revenue and cultivate a loyal customer base. Perform additional duties as assigned. Relationships: Maintain proactive and positive relationships within the JH Kelly operating groups and teams, including shop and field craft personnel. Foster positive relationships with customer representatives, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, safety, CAD/BIM, accounting, IT, and all project teams. Experience / Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent certification. Minimum of three (3) years of experience within the HVAC or mechanical industry. Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Practical knowledge of HVAC systems, the service industry, and customer service principles. Necessary Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify and secure new business opportunities. Dedication to serving customers and building lasting partnerships. Outstanding verbal, written, listening, persuasion, and interpersonal skills. Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, field operations, management, and office personnel to create productive relationships. Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and thrive in a team setting. Consistent record of reliable attendance. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Physical Requirements: This office position requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Candidates must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and using a mouse. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching are necessary. The role also requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling office equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential.
