Posted 3 days ago | Hybrid | Permanent | USD170,000 - USD220,000 per annum + 50% Bonus + 401K We are seeking a Solutions Architect with expertise in Engineering Data Architecture, Solutions Engineering, Java, Python, Automation, Data Lake, Data Mesh, CI/CD, Big Data, AWS, SQL, Oracle, Kafka, Apache Iceberg, Hudi, and experience in Finance, Trading, Financial Services, and Banking sectors for our client in Manhattan, New York City. Requirements: Proven experience as a hands-on Solutions Architect, Technical Lead, or Principal Engineer Strong design and architecture skills for enterprise-scale data solutions Proficiency in Java (not necessarily recent) Experience with enterprise-scale SQL or Oracle Familiarity with Agile methodologies Desirable Skills: Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms Python programming Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure Experience delivering data management, governance, and regulation projects Understanding of data mesh architecture Role Overview: The successful candidate will act as the technical lead and co-manager of a new team tasked with building a data management platform on AWS. The project involves automating data cataloging and implementing data governance policies. You will lead the design, architecture, and technical delivery, working closely with a business lead responsible for regulatory interpretation and strategy. The team will expand over the next year, and you will be involved in hiring and growing the team. You will work primarily with Java and Python on AWS, utilizing Apache Iceberg. As the environment transitions from an AWS data lake to a data mesh architecture, understanding data mesh principles will be highly advantageous. Additionally, you will contribute to other data engineering teams within the company, focusing on data governance and architecture initiatives, with the governance program being your top priority. Work Hours & Location:
8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, hybrid work (2 days/week in the office). Salary & Benefits:
$170,000 - $220,000 + 50% Bonus + 401(k).
