Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: The Sleep Tech will carry out all technical duties for the sleep disorder laboratory under the supervision of the medical director and/or administrator to provide comprehensive evaluation of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography (including in-lab & home sleep studies), diagnostic & therapeutic services, patient care, coordination of home care services, and education. The Sleep Tech will perform duties defined for a polysomnography tech and may oversee other staff. They will troubleshoot problems effectively and demonstrate critical thinking skills. The associate may be required to work at multiple locations. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare & calibrate equipment for testing, ensuring proper functioning and making adjustments as necessary. This includes applying electrodes and sensors, performing physiologic calibrations appropriate for the patient's age and cognitive function. Document observations, procedural changes, and significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of results. Follow "lights out" procedures to establish baseline values such as body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, end-tidal CO2, respiratory and heart rates. Monitor the quality of study tracings to ensure signals are artifact-free, adjust equipment if needed, and troubleshoot issues. Follow procedural protocols for various interventions to ensure proper data collection. Implement appropriate interventions for patient safety and therapeutic purposes, including positive airway pressure and oxygen therapy. Perform various procedures and interventions based on data collected during the study. Clean and sterilize all equipment. Complete documentation and billing paperwork. Score sleep study records according to standard scoring rules. This is a part-time night shift, 2 shifts per week from 7:30 pm to 9 am. REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's Degree preferred. NY State License or work permit as a polysomnographer. Minimum 6 months work experience preferred. Board Certification of Polysomnographer (RPSGT) or obtain within 1 year of hire. Knowledge of home sleep study devices and polysomnography equipment, including EEG, EOG, EKG, motion sensors, respiratory monitors, and positive airway therapy devices.
