From your PASSION to ours The R&D Technical Team Lead will oversee technological and financial aspects of projects within a specific product group or business channel, focusing on:
Enhancing existing products with an emphasis on quality and cost efficiency
Providing technical support for new technology implementation and cheese recovery improvements
Collaborating with manufacturing to ensure industrial feasibility and meet project specifications
Supporting R&D development and monitoring industrial transfers
Contributing to the financial results of Lactalis US Cheese Business
Organizing and executing trials from concept to completion to meet R&D objectives.
From your EXPERTISE to ours Key Responsibilities Include
Providing technical expertise mainly on Mascarpone and Pasta filata cheese types (e.g., fresh mozzarella, pizza cheese, string cheese) to improve quality, yields, or address other areas.
Proposing ideas for new product development
Organizing pilot plant or plant trials, interpreting results, and preparing detailed reports with conclusions and recommendations
Identifying potential cost savings and process improvements
Collaborating with plant and engineering teams on feasibility studies and CAPEX planning
Building relationships with other departments and customers
Exploring ways to improve production aspects like raw materials, techniques, and packaging
Participating in Quality Assurance activities, including HACCP, GMPs, and labeling standards
Maintaining technical documentation and confidentiality
Participating in patent searches and protecting company innovations
Networking with industry and academic contacts to stay current on technical developments
Monitoring R&D progress and reporting concerns to the director
Supervisory Responsibilities Leading and evaluating R&D team members, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and conflict resolution. Supporting staff development and managing team efforts in trials and project execution.
Work Conditions
Travel up to 30% monthly
Extended hours depending on project needs
Tools such as computers and phones will be provided

Minimum Requirements From your STORY to ours Qualified Applicants Will Contribute The Following Education
Master's degree preferred; relevant experience may suffice
Major in Dairy or Food Science preferred
Experience
At least 5+ years of related experience required
Competencies
Strong knowledge of cheese processes, especially pasta filata types
Solid understanding of Food Technology (Microbiology, Physics, Biochemistry, Process)
Mathematics and statistics proficiency
Excellent communication skills for interaction with top management
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint for reporting and presentations
