OVERVIEW An established Texas wine marketing company seeks an energetic, highly motivated individual to help manage its Greater Houston and Gulf Coast Business. The candidate must be highly organized, entrepreneurial, and have a track record of outstanding performance. RESPONSIBILITIES Work with distributor management and sales to achieve goals. Call on and provide high-level service support to retail and on-premise accounts, including both chain and independent stores. Educate distributor personnel and trade. Conduct wine tastings and wine dinners for consumers and trade. Develop new business and maintain existing distributor and trade relationships. Solicit sales, develop new accounts, and maintain established accounts. Be prepared to work evenings and weekends when necessary to meet goals and handle administrative tasks. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE 3-10 years of related wine industry experience required, including wholesale experience. Previous successful supplier experience is preferred. Existing relationships in the Gulf Coast market. Experience selling to on- and off-premise accounts; experience with national retail and chain accounts is a plus. Experience at store level with Houston grocery and liquor chains. Excellent communication skills, including public speaking. Wine knowledgeable, from vineyard to table, including domestic and imports. Certification is preferred. Well organized, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently. Effective through others, able to manage time well and prioritize tasks. Proficient with standard computer equipment, including MS Office. Ability to lift and carry a 9-liter case of wine.
