$110,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is seeking a DataOps Engineer to support the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM), NIH. This is a full-time position, onsite/remote at NCBI in Bethesda, MD, or remote. NCBI advances science and public health by providing free access to biomedical literature and genomic data. This role involves developing and improving a DataOps platform using modern technologies like Kubernetes, GitOps, and containerization. Responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining DataOps platform and tools Evaluating new technologies Supporting adoption by NCBI developers Ensuring compliance with security standards Embracing agile development practices Required skills: Strong programming skills (Python, C++, etc.) Experience with Kubernetes, containerization Cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure) Experience with data processing tools like Kafka, Pub/Sub, AirFlow Linux command-line skills Bonus skills: Google Anthos, Docker, GitOps tools, Infrastructure as code, monitoring tools, secret management, data transfer tools, experience with streaming data platforms, architecture design, Agile experience Educational requirements: B.S. in STEM or equivalent industry experience in Systems Engineering.
