This role collaborates closely with Design, Sourcing, and Product Management teams to lead the successful launch of new products. Key responsibilities include overseeing technical design, managing fit consistency, and driving product development that supports gross margin goals while meeting key milestones within the go-to-market calendar. You’ll Make a Difference By Leading and building a best-in-class fit portfolio across product categories by researching competitive products, creating patterns for new fits, crafting innovative construction techniques, and championing product excellence in fit and quality. Driving and creating product specifications, graded measurements, and detailed technical sketches. Managing fit consistency and monitoring factory utilization of approved blocks. Overseeing the commercialization process by tracking samples, reviewing for workmanship, construction, fit, and production feasibility, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and factories. Conducting fit sessions and communicating fit corrections and pattern updates with factories from prototype through production. Managing and developing the accuracy of product specifications and fit comments throughout the pre-production process. Leading innovation and driving continuous improvement to enhance product performance and process efficiency. Collaborating with business partners to gain alignment and clarity on fit intent. Mentoring direct reports in technical skills, process knowledge, and career development. Fostering open communication and cultivating a collaborative team environment across all business partners. Performing additional responsibilities and contributing to special projects as assigned. About You Over 15 years of experience in technical design and product development for denim and non-denim adult bottoms, focusing on fit and patternmaking. Expertise in understanding physical fit - evaluation of body size, shape, and the relationship of clothing on the target body. Demonstrate a strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and the product development lifecycle. Drive for continual improvement and innovation; sponsor newness. Can proactively solve problems with the most effective solutions and manage multiple challenges. Self-motivated and can work in a fast-paced, result-oriented team environment. Excellent collaboration and influencing skills and the ability to cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, resulting in high customer satisfaction. Manage changes with agility: ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, work independently, and adapt quickly to change. Exceptional written, oral, and face-to-face communication skills. Detail-oriented with high accuracy and outstanding follow-through. Talent Builder - a proven track record of assessing, attracting, and developing talent. Proficient use of Adobe Illustrator, MS Office, Word, and Excel; Knowledge of PLM and patternmaking systems (Accumark) are a plus. BA or BS preferred. The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
