is seeking
Senior Accountants
to provide sound financial stewardship, expert analysis, and innovative approaches to our National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) client at Ames Research Center (ARC) in Silicon Valley, CA. This position will require an onsite presence, so candidates must be able/willing to commute to NASA (ARC ).
The Senior Accountant may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties: Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems. Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable Applies professional accounting and auditing knowledge, promulgated guidance (including FASAB and FASB standards), and principles along with regulations, laws, GAO, Treasury and other federal guidance to advise on OCFO policies Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the programs, activities, and challenges of the agency as it relates to the subject matter of the NPRs, NPDs, NIDs, regulations as well as trends identified at other agencies Responsible for the development of procedures, standards, and guidelines to provide viable solutions to complex issues Leads the development of procedures, standards, and guidelines to provide viable solutions to complex issues May recommend actions or alternatives when accounting data disclose unfavorable trends, situations, or deviations May assist management officials in applying financial data and information to the solution of administrative and operating problems May leverage expertise to support multiple Organizations and/or Centers Required Experience/Skills:
14+ years of specialized experience in accounting or related field Specialized experience in managing or leading financial and/or accounting contractor teams; developing financial management and accounting policies; providing direction in implementing regulatory and/or statutory requirements Proficient in the accounting systems and processes of the Centers supported Education Requirements:
Candidates for this position must possess a BS/BA degree in accounting; or a degree in a related field that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting Company Description
