Job Title: MRI Technologist
Location: Reno, NV
The MRI Technologist is responsible for obtaining high quality images as requested from medical professionals for use in the development of patient treatment plans. You can expect to regularly:
• Operate high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce radiographic
images of patients' specific body parts;
• Operate a Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanner to obtain images used by physicians,
determine appropriate imaging techniques, and operate console and peripheral
hardware;
• Screen patients for MR safety, explain the MRI process and address patient
concerns prior to performing scanning;
• Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to
comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety;
• Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of
exposure and label appropriately;
• Document imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary
information in patients' electronic medical records and Patient Archive
Communication System (PACS);
• Maintain quality control measures in accordance with American College of
Radiology guidelines;
• Follow quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics,
and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician;
• Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work
areas and equipment
Requirements
• Certifications/Education
• MRI Technologist Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT;
Knowledge of:
• MRI and radiology safety procedures and protocols;
• HIPAA and OSHA regulations/procedures;
Experience:
• Using computer systems and applications, including radiology software;
• Communicating effectively with patients, physicians and other medical staff
This position operates in a clinical environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, and similar conditions are possible.
Schedule: May include nights and weekends (Saturday); schedule is based on manager discretion.
Travel: This position may require travel to other clinic locations based on manager
discretion.
