Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of NC/CNC controlled lathes or machining centers to perform turning, boring, threading, contouring, milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, and angle and taper cuts to close tolerances and finish requirements.
- Work from routings, process sheets, and blueprints. Use a variety of precision instruments to set up and inspect work.
- Assist in establishing program requirements. Make machine adjustments to correct deviations from program specifications. Note and report program problems. Make adjustments to program where applicable.
- Recommend tooling arrangements, fixtures, operational sequences. Mount and secure tooling, align and secure fixtures, platens, and workpieces. Help make setup and instruct new or less qualified operators. Run secondary machine or auxiliary operations when applicable.
Requirements
- Experience with Fanuc controls preferred.
- Solid knowledge of machine shop and CNC techniques.
- Two or more years of CNC turning experience.
- Strong background in shop math and blueprint reading.
- Experience with hoists and cranes.
- Personal tools and willingness to buy tools as needed.
- Experience on large diameter vertical lathes is helpful.
- Ability to lift up to 38 lbs.

$23.36 - $35.04/hr
