Reporting to: CI/Lean Engineering Manager
The Continuous Improvement / Lean Engineer is responsible for implementing Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing engineering at Koch Filter. Recommend and develop long-range and short-range objectives and goals using lean manufacturing principles. Coordinate senior management lean visions through weekly Lean/Operations & Lean/Engineering meetings.
Evaluate Manufacturing Systems: Identify areas for improvement and efficiency in existing manufacturing systems. Set objectives with upper management and communicate plans and visions to the workforce through training and team meetings.
Maintain Lean Manufacturing Methods: Track departmental hourly rates and issues, monitor production performance, and conduct weekly Gemba walks to discuss performance and accountability with management teams.
Manage Lean Master Project List: Assist CI/Lean Engineering Manager in preparing Lean capital requests, cost appraisals, and estimates.
Serve as facilitator for teams during lean manufacturing activities and technique implementation, including Kaizen events company-wide.
Implement Projects: Plan and facilitate project implementation, maintain Lean Progression Status spreadsheets, Lean project calendar, and report annual lean assessments.
Offer technical support to staff as needed, stabilize positive results by teaching supervisors how to train new standards using TWI methodology (Training Within Industry).
Implement pilot and existing products to other factory areas, including new facilities.
Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of Lean experience in manufacturing.
Skills: Good communication and planning skills, proficient in MS Excel and Word.

~ Knowledge of computer software, Outlook Internet software, and Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
