Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled
Scientist
to join our dynamic TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) group.
The TEM Scientist will be responsible for:
Partnering with team members to deliver high-quality analysis services to clients.
Operating TEM tools to obtain TEM/STEM images, SAED, EDS, and EELS data from samples.
Developing TEM analysis
protocols/techniques
to meet client requirements.
Creating summary reports that capture project objectives, analysis data, and interpretation of results.
Supporting Data Science work related to imaging processing jobs.
A typical day involves:
Operating TEM tools (FEI or JEOL electron microscopes) and collecting TEM/STEM images based on customer requests.
Performing elemental analysis such as EDS/EELS (collecting and processing data, creating reports).
Engaging with customers to address their questions and concerns.
Work Schedule: 5pm-2am, Tuesdays to Saturdays
Qualifications
PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in TEM analysis of various materials.
Strong understanding of TEM operations and principles.
Expertise in electron microscopy, including TEM/STEM, SAED, 4D-STEM, EDS, and EELS.
Proficiency in scripting/programming (e.g., Linux, Python).
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with FEI and JEOL electron microscopes.
Experience with semiconductor chip products and wafer samples is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to operate a computer and lab equipment for extended periods.
Ability to handle small, fragile devices with tweezers or fingers.
Good visual acuity with or without correction.
Ability to remain stationary for 80% of the time.

Additional Information Compensation Range: $115,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience. Evening shift differential applies.
