Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: PACO Group, Inc. (PACO) is seeking a Construction Manager to support the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) across various capital improvement, rehabilitation, and state of good repair programs . This role involves project management and construction oversight, ensuring all work is delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with WMATA’s standards and safety regulations. Scope of Work As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing multiple construction and rehabilitation projects within WMATA’s transit system. Your role will involve developing construction schedules, managing on-site activities, and liaising with stakeholders—including contractors, engineers, and WMATA project teams—to facilitate smooth project execution and ensure high-quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and schedules. Coordinate resources and manage risk to keep projects on track. Construction Oversight Monitor on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular site inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions. Quality Assurance & Control Review and approve construction methods, materials, and processes. Manage documentation of project milestones, ensuring compliance with WMATA protocols and industry best practices. Stakeholder Coordination Collaborate with internal WMATA departments, contractors, and consultants to resolve technical and logistical challenges. Communicate project updates and progress to senior management, addressing any concerns or changes in scope. Budget & Cost Management Track project expenses against approved budgets. Prepare and review change orders, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with project goals. Safety & Regulatory Compliance Enforce WMATA’s safety guidelines, ensuring all workers and processes meet required standards. Stay updated on relevant codes and regulations, implementing necessary compliance measures. Qualifications Education & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably in transit or large-scale infrastructure projects. Technical Skills Proficiency in construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project). Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation. Communication & Collaboration Excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams, contractors, and stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills to document project status and coordinate with management. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license preferred. Ability to pass required background checks or clearances, including SWAC if needed.
