The Unit Secretary/Nurse Assistant is part of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center’s healthcare team, reporting to a registered nurse. This role involves providing patient-centered care by assisting with activities of daily living, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in line with MercyOne Clinton’s mission, care standards, policies, and procedures. The Unit Secretary performs clerical and receptionist duties under the supervision of the Unit Director, including transcribing physician orders, data entry, scheduling tests, managing patient charts, billing documentation, and communication with staff and patients. The role requires professional behavior aligned with the mission and standards of MercyOne Clinton.
Schedule:
- 2nd shift 11:00 am - 11:30 pm
General Requirements:
- Certified Nurse Aide certification from the State of Iowa.
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
- Preferred minimum of three years’ related experience.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a potentially stressful environment with diverse personalities.
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a shared leadership environment.
- Personal qualities of honesty, integrity, and caring, with the ability to motivate others and uphold the mission and values of Trinity Health.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
