StevenDouglas has partnered with a Midstream company that is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on the energy sector, and a proven ability to manage financial reporting, compliance, and operations. This role will involve overseeing financial activities related to transportation, storage, and processing of energy commodities, ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue optimization within midstream operations.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Ensure proper accounting for capital expenditures, revenue recognition, and joint venture accounting, specific to midstream energy projects.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns, supporting documentation, and ensure timely tax filings.
• Participate in special projects related to process improvements, system implementations, or financial initiatives that support the growth and success of the business.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably in the energy or midstream sector.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and accounting software.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with midstream energy operations, such as pipelines, storage facilities, and processing plants.
• Knowledge of energy commodity markets and pricing mechanisms.
• Previous experience with audit processes and working with external auditors.
