Overview
Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi & North Central Bronx are seeking a Nurse Midwife Liaison. Both facilities are part of the largest public health system in the country, serving diverse communities in the Bronx and lower Westchester County. Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) are major clinical affiliates and teaching sites of Albert Einstein Medical College, with a recent teaching relationship with City University of New York. Jacobi is a 457-bed tertiary referral center with a Level III NICU, while NCB is a 232-bed community hospital with a loyal patient following.

This position involves developing relationships with a clinic located in the Parkchester section of the Bronx.
Responsibilities
- Provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal, interconceptional, and gynecological care.
- Plan and deliver healthcare for women, individuals across the lifespan, and newborns.
- Establish comprehensive patient databases through history taking, physical exams, and appropriate tests.
- Offer guidance and education to clients and families regarding health maintenance, labor management, and emotional support.
- Manage labor and delivery, including neonatal care.
- Administer medications and perform procedures as needed.
- Provide immediate and follow-up care for newborns, including circumcisions and ongoing assessments.
- Seek medical consultation, co-management, or referrals for clients with co-morbidities.
- Provide contraceptive counseling and minor gynecological treatments.
- Work various shifts (day, evening, night, weekends), totaling 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
- Fluent Bengali language skills are preferred.
