Role Overview: As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that powers our trading systems. Your primary focus will be on optimizing multicast networks, automating network processes, and ensuring ultra-low latency and high reliability. You will collaborate closely with our trading, systems, and software development teams to enhance the overall performance of our trading platform. Key Responsibilities: Design & Optimization:
Architect and optimize multicast networks to support high-frequency trading applications with minimal latency. Automation:
Develop, deploy, and maintain network automation tools to streamline network configuration, monitoring, and performance analysis. Latency Reduction:
Identify and mitigate potential sources of network latency; continuously optimize infrastructure to meet low-latency trading requirements. Network Monitoring:
Implement advanced monitoring solutions to track network performance and troubleshoot issues in real-time, ensuring high availability and reliability. Collaboration:
Work closely with trading, development, and infrastructure teams to understand business requirements and align network infrastructure to meet performance and scalability needs. Security:
Ensure robust network security to protect proprietary trading strategies and systems. Troubleshooting:
Provide technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex network issues, particularly related to multicast traffic and performance bottlenecks. Vendor Management:
Liaise with network hardware and software vendors to ensure optimal solutions and upgrades for high-performance trading environments. Job Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably within financial services, high-frequency trading, or other low-latency environments. Strong knowledge of
multicast protocols
(PIM-SM, IGMP, etc.) and experience in deploying and troubleshooting multicast networks. Expertise in
network automation
tools and scripting (Ansible, Python, SaltStack, etc.). Hands-on experience with
low-latency networking
technologies (e.g., FPGA-based NICs, kernel bypass, RDMA). Proficiency with
network monitoring tools
(e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark). Deep understanding of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS). Familiarity with financial market data feeds and protocols (e.g., FIX, FAST). Experience with
low-latency trading infrastructures
and the unique demands they place on networks. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Preferred Skills: Experience in
ultra-low latency trading
infrastructure optimization. Familiarity with
hardware-accelerated
networking solutions (e.g., Mellanox, Solarflare). Knowledge of
cloud networking
and hybrid infrastructure models. Certification in network engineering (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE) is a plus. Additional Information
Target Base Salary for this role will be 200-300K based on varying factors and will be eligible for annual discretionary bonus. This role is eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits.
