Job Overview: A well-established law firm located in Rochelle Park, NJ, is currently seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of landlord-tenant matters, civil litigation, and municipal court cases. Duties:
Landlord-Tenant Matters:
Represent landlords in all phases of eviction proceedings, including non-payment and "for cause" holdover evictions. Litigation:
Handle cases in the Special Civil Part from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing clients at trial. Municipal Court Representation:
Represent clients in municipal court proceedings. Legal Research:
Conduct research to support ongoing cases and provide insights to senior attorneys. Document Drafting:
Prepare legal documents such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation-related materials. Client Interaction:
Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and by ensuring client satisfaction. Courtroom Representation:
Assist in hearings, trials, and depositions, and eventually manage your caseload with increasing responsibility. Requirements:
2-4 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on landlord-tenant law. Familiarity with court rules, motion practice, and trial preparation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a high volume of cases. Strong written and verbal communication skills. New Jersey Bar license is required. Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications:
New Jersey Bar Certification (Required) Skills:
Knowledge of landlord-tenant law and civil litigation. Legal research and analysis. Ability to draft and review legal documents with precision. Strong client communication and relationship-building skills. Comfortability with courtroom settings and managing litigation processes.
