We are looking for an experienced Director, Global Business Development to join our Meetings Group team.
You will manage the full sales lifecycle for clients, including prospecting, lead qualifying, solution selling, proposal development, and account conversion for the Northstar Meetings Group's North American events and targeted integrated media programs specific to our vast planner audience. You’ll also be responsible for the successful achievement of overall territory sales goals and will work cooperatively with the management team and business development directors in North America and International offices to achieve sales revenue objectives. You will actively manage our existing client base, as well as focus on expanding our international footprint. This is a remote position and is open to candidates based in the United States. We also have offices in Rutherford, New Jersey, New York, New York, and Los Angeles, California for those who favor being in an office a few days a week. What You’ll Do: Achieve or exceed monthly and annual revenue goals by developing a strategic plan to grow territory sales amongst existing clients and expanding sales opportunities to new clients. Demonstrate consultative selling skills in digital, data, event, custom, which will enable customers to drive their business and achieve their objectives. Contribute to a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement by sharing ideas and participating in discussions about new product development. Understand the competitive landscape and educate agencies and customers regarding the value and strength of Northstar Meetings Group events and marketing portfolio to reach the meeting and incentive planner audience in the marketplace. Prospect, build and maintain relationships spanning all territories, working in tandem with business development directors globally. Create proposals and presentations and answer RFPs. Work with internal teams on analytics, pre/post sale to clearly communicate progress of campaigns to clients and internal stakeholders. Collaborate closely with management to build and maintain relationships with clients that include strategic consultation and support. Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships. Travel to our Northstar Meetings Group events to monitor sponsorship performance and prospect for additional opportunities for the digital-media platform and conference sponsorships. Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting weekly. What You Have: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of experience in global business development, sales, and account management, preferably in the meetings, events, or hospitality industry. Proven track record of driving revenue growth and securing high-value partnerships. Strong understanding of the meetings and events industry, including key players, trends, and challenges. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. The ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Eagerness to travel both domestically and internationally. Fluency in one or more foreign languages is a plus. To Join Our Team: Click here to apply.
