What Are We Looking For?
Novant Health Physical Therapy is currently looking for an Application Systems Analyst to join our team. The Application Systems Analyst assists with the administration, support, and ongoing enhancement of application systems, including but not limited to, the electronic medical record and patient registration systems in the physical therapy facilities.
Job Responsibilities
Administers practice management and EMR systems, including upgrades, updates, enhancements, design, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, implementation, training and support. Serves as subject matter expert, clinical applications trainer/educator, and technical resource for patient registration, and EMR systems for all center end-users and organizational leadership. Provides training and support for PT staff (front desk and providers) to effectively implement best practices and standardize operational workflows. In conjunction with operations and billing departments, develops new and maintains existing workflows, training aids and other documentation to support desired end-user behaviors and outcomes, while meeting organizational and operational goals and strategies. Analyzes complex data and workflows, audits system performance, and ensures accountability of policy and procedures while maintaining data integrity, and improving end-user performance to gain efficiencies through technology. Participates in evaluation and consideration of new information systems, to include pilot projects. Conducts needs analyses with end-users and administers competency evaluations. Provides collection of scheduled and ad hoc reporting data as assigned. Identifies and assists with implementation of process improvement and efficiency opportunities. Collaborates effectively with IT department regarding clinical application impact on hardware, network, and system requirements In conjunction with IT and other departmental areas, manages Help Desk ticketing system used to organize and track Clinical Applications issues reported by end users. Manages projects and deliverables as assigned, often with little oversight. Maintains effective communication, feedback and issue escalation with vendors as necessary (ex. system and interface downtime). Stays up-to-date on current healthcare trends and best practices through participation in continuing education opportunities. Participates in on-call rotation to provide immediate support and issue resolution for end-users utilizing patient registration and EMR systems.
Do You Have What It Takes?
A good candidate will bring with them:
Associate’s degree in information sciences, Health Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Healthcare or Business Administration or related degree, or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience administering software applications in a healthcare setting; physical therapy setting a plus Highly experienced with MS Office applications including word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Must be a team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to prioritize many tasks, exhibit excellent judgment and work independently. Strong organizational and administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow through are essential.
An ideal candidate would also have:
Experience with ambulatory and urgent care practice workflows; physical therapy setting a plus Strong knowledge of HIPAA and ePHI requirements and legalities. Experience with the use of clinical information systems Software project implementation experience to include systems training and support.
